I mentioned recently in another blog post: Amazon Kindle 2 for blind and visually impaired: Will Amazon Kindle 2 work for blind and visually impaired that Amazon has a text to speech feature on Kindle 2 that will be great for those who are blind or have vision impairments. Someone mentioned a concern that because the feature is experimental on Kindle 2, it could be removed at any time. However, according to Amazon, this is not the case. Amazon states that they NO PLANS to remove any experimental features on the Kindle 2. See link below for more details:
Experimental Features Will Not Be Removed on Kindle 2
Click on the "Why are Some Features Experimental link" from that page. That page states, "We have no plans to remove the experimental features—in fact, we are working hard to make them even better for you."
I felt this information was important enough to pass along to all readers, especially those who are blind or have vision impairments. I also think that it is important that anyone who is blind or has vision impairments that is using the Kindle 2 provide TONS of feedback to Amazon about this feature, including ways to improve it!!!
