Official word is that the Kindle 2 has started shipping from Amazon! If anyone ordered one, I'd love to hear feedback on it.... especially on the new text to speech feature and the navigation. Feel free to comment on this blog post or send me an email at talkingbookslibrarian AT gmail DOT com.

The sound is okay, not great. I do like the feature that you can get your books from your old kindle easily. It is awkward to get up and down on the sceen. The menu, back and enter buttons are too close together, meaning you hit the wrong button a lot. I have not been able to download from feedbooks!!! I wonder if the new kindle won't allow it or the website is too busy with new kindle owners. Glad I have my old one still. I think I like the old one better. I don't think there are enough upgrades from the first one. I am still playing with it.
